You’ll be happy to know that we’re awfully close to publishing Book 14 of the Calico Cat Mystery series, and is it ever a fun and frolicking story with a lot of kitten-love. Watch for the announcement most likely within the next 7 days or so. You’re going to swoon over the cover.
Meanwhile I’m working on Book 64 of the Klepto Cat
Mystery series and having a lot of fun creating that story.
Some of my books published in 2022 are eligible for entry in the Cat Writer’s Association contest and I’ve entered four of mine this year. My unusual approach to writing fiction is often a detriment to my chances of winning or placing in contests like this. My books don’t always meet the judge’s standards for writing fiction, however, I sure haven’t had any complaints from Rags’s and Olivia’s many fans.
One criteria for judging books and other writings for this contest is that ¾ of the piece must focus on cats. Since my books are human-driven—the cats don’t speak—this can also knock me down a bit in this competition. As you know, there’s plenty of kitty-cat action, but not as much as there would be if the cats had voice. Sorry, I just can’t make myself go that far with my fiction.
