A Whole Litter of Klepto Cat Mysteries

We now have a litter of Klepto Cat Mysteries. Number five just hit Amazon.com for your Kindle. The Colony Cat Caper follows Rags, the kleptomaniac cat through a whole new series of adventures with his cast of human characters.

Savannah Ivey, a veterinarian out on maternity leave; her aunt Margaret, the founder of the Hammond Cat Alliance; and Colbi Stanton, a reporter for the local newspaper take on a cat colony at an old, abandoned building. Odd activity around the place makes them wonder if it actually is vacant; some believe it’s occupied by something other-worldly. When a stranger comes to town and suggests the Alliance open the old building to a fund-raiser, everyone gets involved, including Rags, Savannah’s kleptomaniac cat. He finds something that day that stirs a lot of people—both law-abiding and crooks—into action. Are the feral cats and their caretakers in serious danger? What (or who) lurks inside the old building? What secrets does it hide? And who has the key that unlocks the mystery? Order your copy for your Kindle today: http://amzn.to/1kAI8I2

Cat People Are More Intelligent

Maybe Cats Are Smarter, Too

Maybe Cats Are Smarter, Too

I suppose most of you cat lovers have seen the study results indicating that cat people are smarter than dog people. It’s all over the Internet, just type in “cat people are smarter” and you’ll find several renditions of the article. It also says that cat people are more likely to break rules. Dog people are more obedient.

Who did they interview for this study? Students—600 of them. And they said that 60 percent of them identified themselves as dog people.

I think most people who like cats also like dogs. I’m not sure the opposite is true, however. And some of us who like dogs may not want to be responsible for one at any given time in our lives.

In my world, cats rule. Not only do I live with three of the furry, purry little critters, but I write about them.

This is my birthday month. It was a few years ago during my birthday month that I sat down to write my first novel. And now I have published four of them, Catnapped, Cat-Eye Witness, Sleight of Paw and Undercover Cat. All of these books are published for Kindle. Catnapped and Cat-Eye Witness are also in print. http://amzn.to/1kAI8I2

This month, if all goes according to plan, I will produce Sleight of Paw in print form AND we are excited to launch book number five for Kindle. The new book should be available within the next few weeks. Watch for The Colony Cat Caper. The fifth in the Klepto Cat Mystery series featuring Rags and some of his feline and human friends.

And we’re bringing book number 3 out in print in a few weeks, as well. That’s Sleight of Paw. Two births this month. Exciting!

In the meantime, if you’ve read any of the Klepto Cat Mysteries, be sure to post your positive review at Amazon.com. If you haven’t read any of them, check them out here– http://amzn.to/1kAI8I2

Catnapped is the first. Then Cat-Eye Witness, Sleight of Paw and Undercover Cat. Some say the last one is the best one so far!!!

In the meantime, how is your cat spending the summer? Well, I guess it is not officially summer. The kids aren’t even out of school. But it seems like summer here in So Cal. It’s even been HOT along the coast. So the cats in our neighborhood have been rather comical in their lethargy—lying out in the shade in the most unnatural positions. They’re giving the wild birds a reprieve, which is nice since the birds are busy building nests. Even our inside cats are adopting new habits—very little lap-sitting. It’s just too hot to cuddle. And I’ve had the bed to myself most nights, this week. The cats are off snoozing under a ceiling fan or air vent someplace.

Thought I’d share some cute pix of Lily and Smokey.

Klepto Cat and the Foodie

lilly-frig-001All’s well in the Klepto Cat Mystery factory–where Catnapped, Cat-Eye Witness, Sleight of Paw and Undercover Cat were produced. The Colony Cat Caper is coming as soon as my artist can create the art-work. I’ve seen a preliminary sketch and I like it. In my world, I’m not used to letting projects sit around on my desktop. I move ’em in and move ’em out rather quickly. For example, I had an editing job last week. I estimated that it would take me two-weeks to complete. I was finished in 7 days.

And look how fast I write my novels. The first one was published in June of 2013, the second October of the same year. The third book came out in January of 2014 and the fourth–Undercover Cat–this past March (last month). No moss grows under the Klepto Cat’s paws.

If you haven’t read any of these mysteries yet, consider purchasing one (or four) of them for your Kindle for summer reading NOW. Or buy the first two–Catnapped and Cat-Eye Witness in print. They’re all right here: http://amzn.to/1kAI8I2

I hope you enjoy the photos of Lily in this post. Lily was born in a Volkswagen–one of 15 kittens born to three feral cats that year. The females have been spayed. Yay!!! And I am thrilled to have welcomed Lily into our home five years ago as a wee kitten. She’s always been a good eater. Must have been a bully at the mother’s milk bar as a newborn OR she was constantly pushed out of the way. We don’t know what issues she faced as a tiny kitten, but she sure has food issues now. She never misses mealtime and she will eat practically anything.
lily-with-treats-030Here she is checking out one of her favorite foods when she first came to live with us–CHEESE. And the second shot shows her wrestling with a new jar of her favorite dried chicken treats trying to get it open. Isn’t she just the cutest thing?

Undercover Cat has SIX 5-star Reviews!

uccat-cover-pastelUndercover Cat has acquired six reader reviews at Amazon so far, and all of them are 5-stars. That’s encouraging. Undercover Cat is the 4th in the Klepto Cat Mystery series and probably the one with the most action. Although, I’m not writing action stories. These are cozy mysteries.

To read them in order, start with Catnapped. Follow up with Cat-Eye Witness, Sleight of Paw and then Undercover Cat. Order the Kindle or print versions here: http://amzn.to/1kAI8I2

(Only Catnapped and Cat-Eye Witness are in print so far.)

Another NEW Klepto Cat Mystery

My 4th novel is now available for Kindle. Check out Undercover Cat here: http://amzn.to/1kAI8I2

Here’s how the story goes: A popular local journalist goes missing just before she has the opportunity to turn in her story exposing unscrupulous cat hoarders. Not only is Colbi a friend of Savannah and Michael Ivey, Damon (now out of prison and employed by the local newspaper) has a strong personal interest in her. In fact, Damon breaks some rules and some trusts in his search for Colbi.

Is this a love connection? It’s doubtful because Colbi is a strong advocate for the feral cat population and Damon hates cats—or so he believes. Will a kitten in need change his heart?

Colbi’s rescue is almost too late. She needs time to heal both physically and emotionally. So the Iveys invite her to recuperate in their home. Just when Colbi begins to feel safe, a body is discovered in the Iveys’ orchard and Rags (their kleptomaniac cat) goes missing. Can someone in a nearby homeless camp shed some light on the evolving mystery? Does Rags have a secret of his own? My 4th novel is now available for Kindle. Check out Undercover Cat here: http://amzn.to/1kAI8I2

Smokey Meets Rags

smokeycat-eye-025Smokey meets Rags and he’s not particularly impressed. I had a hard time getting Smokey to settle down and pay attention to the new print version of Cat-Eye Witness for this photo shoot. He wanted to go out and play. He’s not such a literary cat, you see. But he is interested in some of the adventures his storybook counterpart, Rags, experiences throughout the Klepto Cat Mystery series. In fact he inspired some of them—he, along with Lily, Max, Sophie, Sally (from Ohio), Misty, Winfield, Katy, PomPom and others (from the past), and a whole lot of imagination
