Newsday Tuesday—Some Interesting Pet Products

Muffins Halo wings for poppyWhile I was at the Cat Writers/Blog Paws Conference a little over a week ago, I saw a lot of commercial exhibits, including new-to-me products. Probably the most surprising and unusual was Muffin’s Halo—a Guide for Blind Dogs. You put this on your blind dog and it protects him/her from bumping into walls and other hard surfaces. What an amazing invention. I met two poodles who were wearing the Muffin’s Halo—one was blind and the other deaf. http://www.muffinshalo.com

I spoke with a man who spent the conference walking around with a litter box filled with

litter. No kidding. And he seemed to be enjoying himself immensely. He was promoting a Lucy Products, Cats Incredible litter. http://www.lucyproducts.com.

I learned about Calming Collars. These are quite attractive collars designed to help calm cats and dogs who are stressed or fearful, offer comfort for those with motion sickness, and cool an overheated pet. http://www.calmingcollars.com

I saw Pawbreakers for cats. This is actually a treat in ball form that the cat can actually play with. She’s attracted to it because of the ingredients, which are all supposed to be safe and healthy for cats. It’s billed as candy for cats—but it isn’t actually candy. http://www.edibleanimaltreats.com

And then there was the Sleepypod, a mobile pet bed designed to keep pets safe when traveling. http://sleepypod.com

Be sure to check these products out for your pets.

  1. Companies are coming up with some really great products for pets these days! My cats have worn calming collars before, but nothing that fashionable! Pawbreakers are great – Carmine loves them!
