I'm president of SPAWN (Small Publishers, Artists and Writers Network) at http://www.spawn.org. and I respond regularly to writers' and authors' questions through the SPAWN website. I present writing seminars and workshops throughout the U.S. having been a guest speaker for the Book Publicists of Southern California; the San Luis Obispo Night Writers; SPAWN Santa Barbara, SPAWN Thousand Oaks and SPAWN Ventura, CA; Pen Women of Southern CA; the San Luis Obispo Book Festival and Barnes and Noble in Honolulu, HI. I participated in the Writer's Digest Largest Writing Workshop in the World at Barnes and Noble in Ventura, CA. I was a presenter at the Much Ado About Books event in Jacksonville, FL and at the National Association of Women Writers in Arlington, TX. I taught an online history writing class through the Writing World Web site. And I headed up SPAWN's first writing program middle school kids in January of 2004.
In 2006, I was the lead speaker at the SPAN Marketing Conference in San Francisco. I also conducted a workshop at the Northwest Regional Writers Association conference in Seattle; for the Pen Women's Conference in Honolulu; at a book festival and conference in Ventura, California; at the Book Publicists of Southern California meeting in Los Angeles, at the Central Coast Book Festival in San Luis Obispo, California and at the Wisconsin Regional Writers' Conference in Janesville, Wisconsin during this year. The highlight of my speaking tour in 2006 was an all-expenses-paid trip to Dubai where I spoke before 800 Toastmasters from throughout the Middle East at District 79's annual convention.
