Who is Patricia Fry?
Patricia is a full-time freelance writer and the author of 25 published books. She has been writing for publication for over 30 years having contributed hundreds of articles to about 200 different magazines. Her articles have appeared in Writer's Digest, Writer's Journal, Canadian Author, PMA Independent, SPAN Connection, Freelance Writer's Report, Writer's Weekly, NAWW Newsletter, Writing for Dollars, Authorship, Complete Woman, L.A. Times, Kiwanis Magazine, Columbia, Your Health, Cat Fancy, Entrepreneur Magazine, Pages and many others. She has been a regular contributor for The Toastmaster Magazine since 1994.
Her published books include, The Right Way to Write, Publish and Sell Your Book, How to Write a Successful Book Proposal in 8 Days or Less, The Successful Writer's Handbook, A Writer's Guide to Magazine Articles and Over 75 Good Ideas for Promoting Your Book. Several of Patricia's books are self-published through her 22-year-old publishing company, Matilija Press. Patricia also works with clients on their writing projects.
Patricia is the president of SPAWN (Small Publishers, Artists and Writers Network—http://www.spawn.org). She contributes regularly to SPAWNews and she writes the monthly SPAWN Market Update. She has taught numerous classes and presented countless workshops online as well as in person. She was a featured author in 2004 at the National Association of Women Writers conference in Arlington, TX ; The Much Ado About Books event in Jacksonville, FL; Meet Me in St. Louis Book Festival in MO and the San Luis Obispo Festival of Books in CA. In 2005, she returned to St. Louis to participate in their 2nd annual conference as a workshop leader and she also spoke at the Write For Hope Conference in Thousand Oaks and a Toastmasters Regional event in Los Angeles.
In 2006, Patricia was the lead speaker at the SPAN Marketing Conference in San Francisco. She also conducted a workshop at the Northwest Regional Writers Association conference in Seattle; for the Pen Women's Conference in Honolulu; at a book festival and conference in Ventura, California; at the Book Publicists of Southern California meeting in Los Angeles, at the Central Coast Book Festival in San Luis Obispo, California and at the Wisconsin Regional Writers' Conference in Janesville, Wisconsin during this year. The highlight of her speaking tour in 2006 was an all-expenses-paid trip to Dubai where she spoke before 800 Toastmasters from throughout the Middle East at District 79's annual convention.
