Challenging Morning<\/strong>
\nI was faced with a challenge this morning. Late yesterday afternoon, I learned that we needed more copy for our upcoming SPAWN Catalog of Members\u2019 Books and Services<\/em>. Lily (kitty) must have known that I had to add a project to my already jammed agenda today, and she woke me up at 4. Thankfully, I have completed the task and I\u2019m on schedule writing this blog post.<\/p>\n

New Article on Book Marketing<\/strong>
\nI received my copy of Writer\u2019s Journal <\/em>yesterday with my article, \u201cPromote Your Book Through Alternative Venues.\u201d<\/p>\n

Are you a creative marketer on behalf of your book? Do you go beyond the obvious in search of promotional opportunities? Here are some of the suggestions I made in the article:<\/p>\n

1: Get involved in community events.
\n2: Spend time at senior centers
\n3: Go to church.
\n4: Join in with Elderhostel Groups (now known as Exploritas).
\n5: Visit schools and colleges.
\n6: Sit in at writing group meetings.
\n7: Enter the corporate environment.
\n8: Attend shows, fairs and festivals.
\n9: Join online discussions, bulletin boards and blogs
\n10: Throw home parties.
\n11: Go on the radio
\n12: Talk about your book everywhere you go.<\/p>\n

I would add today\u2014get involved in social media networking. I\u2019ll have more on the opportunities within this realm soon as this is the subject I am researching and writing about in my latest book, which a New York publisher is eager to produce.<\/p>\n
