Presumably, if you are reading this blog, your blog reflects your book\u2014it is a way of promoting your book to the world. Here are some blog post ideas for authors of nonfiction books:<\/p>\n
\u2022\tUse excerpts from your book.
\n\u2022\tTell some of the back-story around the writing of the book.
\n\u2022\tTalk about what inspired you to write it.
\n\u2022\tShare some of the concepts from your book.
\n\u2022\tShare related resources.
\n\u2022\tTalk about new findings, sites, etc. related to your topic.
\n\u2022\tWrite and post informational articles.
\n\u2022\tPost how-to articles.
\n\u2022\tReview sites\/books by other experts in your field.
\n\u2022\tInvite guest bloggers in related fields.
\n\u2022\tWrite about your background\/experiences in this topic.
\n\u2022\tIntroduce new products.
\n\u2022\tAnnounce any publicity you get\u2014book reviews, etc.
\n\u2022\tDescribe interesting\/pertinent conversations with customers.
\n\u2022\tCreate posts from experiences you have while promoting your book.
\n\u2022\tOffer freebies or discounts as incentive to buy your book.
\n\u2022\tDevelop additional services\/products and talk about them here.<\/p>\n
For authors of fiction books:<\/p>\n
\u2022\tUse excerpts from your book.
\n\u2022\tDescribe some of your characters and how you formed them.
\n\u2022\tShare stories from your experiences while writing this book.
\n\u2022\tWrite about some of the themes imbedded in your story.
\n\u2022\tTalk about what inspires you to write.
\n\u2022\tInterview other novelists.
\n\u2022\tReview similar books.
\n\u2022\tPublish reviews of your book.
\n\u2022\tPost testimonials\/reader comments.
\n\u2022\tShare some of your other writings.
\n\u2022\tReveal the plot of your next novel.
\n\u2022\tDescribe some of your book promotion experiences.
\n\u2022\tInvolve readers in writing assignments.
\n\u2022\tOffer freebies or discounts as incentive to buy your book.<\/p>\n
This is pretty basic. You can take it from here and expand on some of these ideas, dissect them, analyze them\u2026<\/p>\n
Remember that the point is to bring attention to your credibility in your field, your skill\/talent as a writer\/storyteller and the value of your book and\/or services\/products.<\/p>\n
