It used to be that the main question authors asked me about blogging was, \u201cWhat is a blog?\u201d Now the two questions I get most often are, \u201cWhat will I write in my blog?\u201d and, \u201cHow will I promote my blog?\u201d Yesterday I covered the former. Today, let\u2019s discuss the latter.<\/p>\n
Promote a blog pretty much the same way you would promote a book. Here are 15 ideas:
\n\u2022\tTell people about it
\n\u2022\tAdd the link to your promo material (brochures, business cards, bookmarks, handouts when giving presentations and so forth).
\n\u2022\tAdd the link to your bio at the bottom of the articles you write or stories you submit to magazines and newsletters.
\n\u2022\tComment at blog site on the same topic as yours and include your blog link.
\n\u2022\tHave your blog included in directories of blogs on particular topics\u2014writing, history, fiction, romance, etc.
\n\u2022\tCreate a \u201csignature\u201d for your outgoing emails and make sure the link to your blog is included.
\n\u2022\tEnter your blog in contests for added recognition.
\n\u2022\tTwitter your blog topics each time you post.
\n\u2022\tUse FaceBook, LinkedIn, etc. to promote your blog.
\n\u2022\tUse keywords in your title that will attract higher ratings with Google.
\n\u2022\tPost your blog link at your Amazon.com page, Twitter profile page and so forth.
\n\u2022\tPrint your blog link in your book when it is published.
\n\u2022\tAdd your link to freebies you give at your website.
\n\u2022\tHave clear links from your website to your blog site.
\n\u2022\tAsk others at appropriate sites to link to your blog.<\/p>\n
