I wonder if most writers write poetry at some point in their careers. I used to write poetry\u2014the rhyming kind. Enjoyable.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s a rumor going around that says there is no market for poetry. Hogwash. There are hundreds of opportunities for getting your poetry published. And today I\u2019m going to provide you with some links to a fraction of those publications and websites that publish poetry. Most of them don\u2019t seem to pay for poetry. But then, you know that writing poetry isn\u2019t a career path for the majority of poets. You seek to have your poetry published for validation that your poetry is publishable or just for the pure fun of it.<\/p>\n
This said, of course, there are people who are making money writing poems for greeting cards, plaques, posters and such. A few are selling books of poetry. In fact, when I talk poetry to struggling, discouraged, hopeful poets, I always tell them about these two books:<\/p>\n
