Do you have a book to promote? If you have come out with a book, it is your job to promote it, you know. How do you get your book promotion ideas? Do you read books on the subject? Articles? Do you get ideas from speakers and members of your writers\u2019 group? Do you attend writers\u2019 and authors\u2019 conferences? Perhaps you\u2019ve received some tips for promotion through this blog. These are all good activities for any author.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s one of my favorite book promotion tips. Snoop on other authors. Visit the websites of authors of books similar to yours and find out how they\u2019re promoting their books:<\/p>\n

\u2022\tWhere are they being interviewed?
\n\u2022\tWhere are they submitting articles\/stories?
\n\u2022\tWhere are they speaking?
\n\u2022\tWho is reviewing their books?
\n\u2022\tWho is writing about them and their books?
\n\u2022\tWhich book festivals are they attending?
\n\u2022\tWhere do they have their books displayed\/stocked?
\n\u2022\tWhat unique promotional tactics are they using successfully?<\/p>\n

Find out by studying their media pages, appearances pages, blog posts and reviews posted at their websites and at their Amazon book page, etc. You\u2019ll also want to keep your finger on the pulse of your industry by joining appropriate organizations, reading periodicals related to the theme or genre of your book, subscribing to newsletters on this topic\/genre, etc.<\/p>\n
