Olivia is an only cat, but she has cat friends who visit outside her favorite windows\u2014there\u2019s Larry, who actually comes to visit the birds we feed. Olivia loves to follow Larry from window to window–keeping a close eye on his antics.<\/p>\n
Ash used to wander down from a block away, not so ![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.matilijapress.com\/catscapades\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/catstripevisit1-225x300.jpg\")
much to see Olivia, but to get petting from us if we were outside. Molly and Annie lived next door for several years. They were allowed outdoor privileges and adored spending time in our yard\u2014where there were no dogs to spoil their naps or interfere with their adventures. What lovely cats they were. I enjoyed their visits. They\u2019ve moved ![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.matilijapress.com\/catscapades\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/MollieFlowers-225x300.jpg\")
out of state, however\u2014had an adventure of a different kind when they traveled by car all the way to St. Louis. Those two I miss.<\/p>\n
Most of the neighborhood cats that have claimed our yard have been delightful and, in fact, helpful in keeping gophers out of our garden, but there was one devil cat that we were certainly glad to see leave town.![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.matilijapress.com\/catscapades\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/catanniecactus-225x300.jpg\")

Rocket was a small orange tabby\u2014cute as a button, but evil as they come. He broke through a window at a neighbor\u2019s house and attacked their aged Abyssinian. He would invite petting, then when least expected, attack with vengeance. Rocket was a one of a kind neighborhood cat, thank heavens.<\/p>\n
We have two new roaming cats in the neighborhood. I don\u2019t know them by name yet, and they haven\u2019t discovered our yard, nor have they seen Olivia at the window, but I\u2019m interested in meeting them and hoping for a lovely neighbor-cat relationship.<\/p>\n
