Make resolutions involving your cat or other cats\u2014plan a visit to your veterinarian if it\u2019s been a while since you\u2019ve done so. Visit a cat caf\u00e9. Donate or volunteer at \"\"a local cat shelter.<\/p>\n

This is also Pet Travel Safety Day and a good time to discover the best way to keep your cat safe \"\"should you need to transport her. It could happen. Surely, you take her to the veterinarian when called for and for annual checkups. What if you have to evacuate because of fire or flood (I did once with two cats), or you plan to move to a new location? (I\u2019ve done that with cats, too.) Maybe your cat simply enjoys a car ride.<\/p>\n

Tips: Use a crash-tested pet crate and buckle it into the backseat of your car. Look into car seats for cats and follow the directions for using it. This will most likely mean getting your cat accustomed to wearing a harness. It can be done.<\/p>\n
