loves to snooze out in the open on a bed, while another is more comfy hiding under the sofa when napping. And some cats adore boxes. They actually get excited to see a big truck pull up and a ![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.matilijapress.com\/catscapades\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Oliviafilingshelf-225x300.jpg\")
stranger hop out and drop a box on your porch. Does your cat wait anxiously for you to empty the contents of the box then jump into it and just sit or play or take a nap?<\/p>\n
Our tortie, Sophie, prefers the paper that comes in the ![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.matilijapress.com\/catscapades\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Smokey2021-225x300.jpeg\")
boxes. She shreds it and scatters the shreds around. Once she has her \u201cnest\u201d made, she lays in it and there she stays ever so happily for hours.<\/p>\n
Some cats like to hang out in dark places, even under the furniture and others prefer looking down at everyone and everything. Ever find your cat on top of the refrigerator? It happens. Rags in the Klepto Cat Mysteries, found a box high in the rafters of the garage. He spent so much time up there that my dad climbed up there and placed a heavy blanket over the stack of boxes for him. He seemed to appreciate that as you can see in this photo.<\/p>\n

Sophie. She\u2019s pretty much a creature of habit. She curls up on my bed after I get up and there she stays until I open the living room blinds to allow the sun to shine in. Then she moves into a sun puddle. She naps on the loveseat or in the latest paper nest she has created on the living room carpet. I almost always know where to find Sophie.<\/p>\n
Then there\u2019s Olivia. She likes to hide and she seems to always be claiming new hiding places. Just when you think she has given up one of them, that\u2019s where you\u2019ll find her the next time you go on an Olivia search. Oh this is not to say that she doesn\u2019t love company and attention, but there are periods during the day when she just wants to world to go away and she does a pretty good job of making it happen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
