While our cats don\u2019t go outside, I still enjoy the concept of cats frolicking in the flowers, enjoying the sun\u2019s rays, and visiting neighbors who welcome them. They stare out into the neighborhood through the windows. Some will dart outside every chance they get.<\/p>\n
While Sophie has no desire to go outside, she loves it when we bring the out of doors in to her. She begs for grass to chew and she delights when a moth or fly makes it into the house. Chasing flying insects and spiders is one of her favorite pastimes. And she enjoys watching neighborhood cats as they prowl ![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.matilijapress.com\/catscapades\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_6593-300x200.jpg\")
through our yard, curl up under a shrub, or climb one of our trees.<\/p>\n
Our cats enjoy seeing the weather turn warm when we open windows and doors. They\u2019ll sit for hours taking in the sights and scents of a world they only see from a distance.<\/p>\n
On my cat-a-day calendar Jean Burden is quoted. Of course this pertains to the cat. \u201cProwling his own quiet backyard or asleep by the fire, he is still only a whisker away from the wilds.\u201d<\/p>\n
