I\u2019m so glad we\u2019re no longer buying film and paying to have it developed because the cats I photograph\u2014mine and others\u2014would be costing me a fortune. I sometimes believe I get more bad shots than good ones when I\u2019m photographing cats.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s the empty frame\u2014space where a cat <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3133\" src=\"https:\/\/www.matilijapress.com\/catscapades\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/MarmaladeCupboard-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.matilijapress.com\/catscapades\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/MarmaladeCupboard-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.matilijapress.com\/catscapades\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/MarmaladeCupboard-375x500.jpg 375w, https:\/\/www.matilijapress.com\/catscapades\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/MarmaladeCupboard.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/>once posed ever so beautifully until the camera comes out then POOF, they disappear. Most of the bad shots I get of cats simply show a blur of fur or maybe only a tail or a few whiskers in the frame. Either the cat saunters or runs off or she walks toward me, giving me a distorted view of her nostrils.<\/p>\n<p>Today I\u2019m thankful for the many good photos my cats will let me take of them.
