\"\"As most of you know, I enjoy photography\u2014not enough to build a darkroom or spend hundreds of thousands on camera equipment. But I do enjoy taking pictures and my pictures are mostly of animals. Today, I\u2019d like to share some of what I consider photo bloopers.<\/p>\n

This week, I saw a gorgeous Samoyed walking with his owner. When we stopped to talk, I couldn\u2019t help myself. I shot a picture of this guy\u2019s pretty face and bright blue eyes. But what I didn\u2019t notice, until I looked at the picture on the screen was that his friend, a chocolate poodle, had photo-bombed him. Cute, huh?<\/p>\n

I have no idea how this shot of Lily came about. I guess something slipped when I took the \"\"picture or something because I can tell you, there is only one Lily\u2014not two as appear in this interesting shot.<\/p>\n

Now this is one of my all-time favorite photos (and the People\u2019s Choice at the Ventura County Fair one year). You see it here on this page every time you visit. This is Smokey, my mother\u2019s cat. Maybe you can tell, he\u2019s leaping after a bee. People ask me how long it took me to take this shot\u2014how long did I sit and wait for it. Actually, the cat commandeered this photo. I was simply taking a picture of him with a point-and-shoot camera as he peered \"\"through a flowering bush. As I pressed the button, however,I heard Smokey leap out of the bush. I said, \u201cDarn. Missed the shot.\u201d Then I looked at the screen on the small digital camera and gasped. This is the result of Smokey\u2019s maneuver. He didn\u2019t catch that bee, however, only this award-winning shot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
