I’ve found that there are different ways to hug a cat–especially one that doesn’t want to be hugged. I often hug Lily and Sophie, simply by placing my hands over their bodies and gently pressing a couple of times. I think petting is a type of hug–at least it’s certainly acceptable as far as most cats are concerned. But our cats seem to like to be scratched behind the ear and around the neck.<\/p>\n

Does your cat hug you? I consider it a hug when Lily rubs against my ankles or when she’s in my lap and she butts her head against me or presses her face into the crook of my elbow. Yes, there’s many types of kitty hugs.<\/p>\n
