Does it sometimes seem like your cat is dissing you? When you want to pet her, she bites. Or you wriggle your fingers in an attempt to play with her or toss her ball and she just looks at you like you\u2019re weird. I was talking to Lily-kitty the other day\u2014having a meaningful conversation with her\u2014and she yawned in my face.<\/p>\n
What about when your cat stares at you\u2014just stares from across the room. Does it make you squirm? Do you feel as though you\u2019re being hated or maybe adored? With some cats it\u2019s hard to tell what\u2019s on their mind.<\/p>\n
Last night, Dennis looked at Lily, who was looking at him, and he asked, \u201cAre you mad at me?\u201d<\/p>\n
When I questioned his question, he said, \u201cShe\u2019s looking at me like she\u2019s mad.\u201d There was no body language, just a stare.<\/p>\n
Later, he said, \u201cThat\u2019s better. Now she\u2019s happy.\u201d Well, he\u2019d just fed her, so maybe that\u2019s the reason.<\/p>\n

Sure, when she pins their ears back, swishes her tail, and growls, you know she\u2019s angry. When she sits up tall, ears forward, eyes wide, she may be interested in something in front of her or she\u2019s eager and ready to play. When she purrs, she\u2019s most likely contented. But what about that stare?<\/p>\n
I swear when we\u2019re preparing to leave, we get a sad look from Lily. When she\u2019s waiting around a corner to pounce on an unsuspecting Sophie, her eyes are alive with impishness.
