Hi there,
Just reading your day makes me quite out of breath and I know I couldn't do it. I'm 56 and have a very physically tiring job which requires me getting up at 04.45 five days a week, a little job on the 6th day and a husband who works at home. On my one free day a week I drop everything to concentrate on anything to do with my books, but it's, by far, not enough. I don't get time to promote my books or get myself out there and get known.
I can be very organised with the life I have and prioritise quite well; using lists mainly! But I don't seem to be able to find space to fit anything else in which really do need attention. Having a husband at home doesn't help; although I love him being around, it means I'm always stopping to feed him or make a cuppa. He works hard and late so I feel I must do this for him, he takes good care of me after all.
So, what's the answer? I can't afford to give up work, yet if I were able to promote the books more I may have more of an income from them if I did. Catch 22!
Sorry, I'm waffling.
It will be interesting to see other comments to this article to see what others do and how they do it, perhaps pick up some tips!
